چکیده
In this article, we introduce a generalization of graphlets to heterogeneous networks called typed . Informally, are small induced subgraphs. Typed generalize rich as they explicitly capture the higher-order connectivity patterns in such networks. To address problem, describe general framework for counting occurrences graphlets. The proposed algorithms leverage number combinatorial relationships different For each edge, count few graphlets, and with these counts along relationships, obtain exact other o (1) constant time. Notably, worst-case time complexity approach matches best known untyped algorithm. addition, lends itself an efficient lock-free asynchronous parallel implementation. While there no existing methods has been some work that focused on computing much simpler notion colored graphlet. experiments confirm our is orders magnitude faster more space-efficient than Unlike take hours networks, takes only seconds large millions edges. since graphlet (and graphlets), various can be combined give rise new opportunities applications

Network comparison using directed graphlets
With recent advances in highthroughput cell biology the amount of cellular biological data has grown drastically. Such data is often modeled as graphs (also called networks) and studying them can lead to new insights into molecule-level organization. A possible way to understand their structure is by analysing the smaller components that constitute them, namely network motifs and graphlets. Gra...
متن کاملModel Selection for Social Networks Using Graphlets
Several network models have been proposed to explain the link structure observed in online social networks. This paper addresses the problem of choosing the model that best fits a given real world network. We implement a model selection method based on un-supervised learning. An alternating decision tree is trained using synthetic graphs generated according to each of the models under considera...
متن کاملFrom quasirandom graphs to graph limits and graphlets
We generalize the notion of quasirandom which concerns a class of equivalent properties that random graphs satisfy. We show that the convergence of a graph sequence under the spectral distance is equivalent to the convergence using the (normalized) cut distance. The resulting graph limit is called graphlets. We then consider several families of graphlets and, in particular, we characterize quas...
متن کاملDetermination of Specificity Residues in Two Component Systems using Graphlets
This work presents a novel method for the identification of specificity residues in two component systems based on the discovery of graphlet signatures. We use network representations of 3-D structures and sequence of proteins, experimental data and graph-based learning to detect graphlet signatures that potentially are responsible for phosphotranfer specificity between Histidine Kinase (HK) an...
متن کاملMoss: A Scalable Tool for Efficiently Sampling and Counting 4- and 5-Node Graphlets
Counting the frequencies of 3-, 4-, and 5-node undirected motifs (also know as graphlets) is widely used for understanding complex networks such as social and biology networks. However, it is a great challenge to compute these metrics for a large graph due to the intensive computation. Despite recent efforts to count triangles (i.e., 3-node undirected motif counting), little attention has been ...
